Our brand New Eco Song “Swim Little Fishy, Swim” is now out on video!
We were very busy filmmaking this summer! A small but mighty band of eco warriors joined me and the Go Kid Music Team as we made our first “on location” video down at Brighton Seafront.
The song is fun and catchy but has a serious message at it’s heart: We need to clean up our oceans. I’m sure you watched Blue Planet II with as heavy a heart as I. In the final episode, Sir Richard Attenborough sent out a plea – “help us clean up the oceans before it’s too late”. He showed us the real state of our oceans. He told us about the effect it is having right now on our marine life – and invariably – our life; and what may happen in the future if we don’t change our actions.
But, what to do?
As a songwriter, I was moved to do something about it my way – write a song. I wanted the message to be clear but positive. I wanted to write a song that our children can sing in schools and at home that would be fun and enjoyable to sing, but still carried the all important message.
So, that’s what I did! I tried it out in school and the song is really popular. It sounds great when sung by whole halls full of children! It makes a brilliant assembly song, or one that children can learn in their classrooms and sing as part of an eco-themed topic or club.
New Resources for your School.
We made a Makaton signing film especially for schools. We decided to do our bit to help spread the good word by making all the materials available for free! Your school can now download the teaching video for your whiteboard, the audio track to play on any device, the full production backing track and the lyrics and chord sheets. Please feel free to download the materials and share widely. Our aim at Go Kid Music is to share music and learn through singing. What better way to spread our message?
So, settle down and watch the film we made in Summer 2018 below! Follow the links to download your free digital resource pack that contains the materials described above. Let’s clean it up!
Huge thank you to all the little eco warriors and their families who joined us for the day and sang their hearts out on our video!
